Welcome to Freshly Squeezed, a weekly new music playlist: spanning country, pop, EDM and urban, mainstream and other.

Cherryade don’t bluff. They go all in. Their Fractured Fairytales album unleashes bloodthirsty havoc on the world, our eardrums the biggest victim of all, and it’s as wild a ride as songs “Houdini” and “Empress” alluded to back last year. “Got You Good,” kicking off this week’s returning playlist, is more pop and succulent than most of the other tracks. And that’s a good thing. It’s twisted echoes hook in your brain, flood your ear canals until you suffocate and give your heart extreme and stabbing palpitations. If you have a heart attack, so be it.

Whoa Dakota‘s debut album, Patterns, which we had the honor of premiering yesterday with an in-depth conversation, is one of the year’s best records. That’s not hyperbole talking. That’s tea spilling. It’s visceral and moving, as mastermind and musician Jesse Ott works through cycles she has fallen into over the years. She discards those former selves, even though their remnants remain attached to her heartstrings and core fibers. We may never be able to completely relinquish ourselves from our skeletons and ghouls, packing them away in treasure chests or wrapped in plastic underneath our bed or away in mildewed boxes somewhere in a cobwebbed, dusty attic. But we can learn, grow and flourish with a thicker consciousness. “Toe to Toe” is one of many of the set’s finest and most honest moments.

Americana-bluesman Josh King rocks and rolls on his new record, Into the Blue, out today, too, and even in the most boisterous and mind-clawing moments, as he allows on “The Stranger,” there is such a weight to his movements, his intonation, his approach, that you may never recover. His craft is only just beginning to reach new levels of awesome.

This week’s new music playlist also features: Ava Max, Sleeping Lion, Bright Light Bright Light, Allie X, Con Murphy, Ehlie Luna, Sara Diamond, LPX, Stasney Mav, Sophie Beem, Bad Wave, Eric Church, My Brothers and I, AURORA, Pale Waves, Calvin Harris, So Below, Paradise Club, LeyeT and so many others.

In all, we’ve got 34 new songs spin and spin and spin some more.

Each playlist will be refreshed every Friday morning/afternoon. We reserve the right to update anytime during the week, so make sure you bookmark this page.
