Throwback Thursday: Linda Ronstadt leaves her heart on the floor with ‘Desperado’

Welcome to Throwback Thursday, a weekly series showcasing an album, single, music video or performance of a bygone era and its personal and/or cultural significance.

You know the kinds of performances that are so transcendent that no words could possibly describe it in appropriate terms? Yeah, this is one of those. Here is Linda Ronstadt weaving a heartfelt and defining rendition of The Eagles’ smokey ballad “Desperado” during her 1977 Simple Dreams Tour.

Nothing else needs to be said, really ⎯⎯ just bask in the sheer greatness that is and forever will be: Linda Fucking Ronstadt.
