Welcome to Hook & Reel, a series showcasing music that’s guaranteed to catch your ear.

If you had told me a month ago that I’d be able to listen to a song touched by Lorde, Tove Lo, Khalid, SZA, and Post Malone by the end of this year, I would’ve told you that’s just a wild musical fantasy that’ll never come true. But here we are!

Lorde transformed “Homemade Dymanite,” the Tove Lo co-write from her 2017 album Melodrama, into a DJ Khaled-esque remix. In this mega-collab, the “Perfect Places” singer shares the stage with three of 2017’s biggest radio and streaming artists, and it absolutely hits the mark.

The foursome bolsters the hedonistic feel of the original, and together they paint a pretty portrait of the perfect party. Lorde’s on the dance floor with a drink in her hand, a sparkle in her eye, and she’s looking for a stranger to take home for the night. Khalid’s baked in the corner, basking in the moment and ready to rage until the morning light (though he cleverly counters Lorde’s line on driving under the influence in the original, saying “let’s be honest with ourselves, we’re way too high to drive”). SZA’s yearning over a taken man and finally has him alone, a few drinks in and more than willing to admit her admiration. Finally, Post Malone’s cuddled up to his beau in an inebriated haze, the liquor intensifying his love and lust.

The only thing that could make this remix better? A music video in the vein of Gaga’s “Just Dance.”
