Review: 2LOT & Albert Harvey collide with new mix EP
The group’s new EP packs a cosmic punch.
It takes a special kind of producer to make old songs sound exciting and fresh again. Albert Harvey, known for working with the likes of Stargate, David Guetta, and Avicii, puts his magic touch on a batch of songs from genre-smashing collective 2LOT. The Albert Harvey Mix arrives today (October 24) as a colossal comet heading straight for the Earth’s core. Four previously released songs, including “Call for Me” and “Never Knew You,” two of the group’s biggest streaming hits, get torn apart, reconfigured, and readjusted for a dance party to end all dance parties.
Where “Sacrifice,” etched in synthetic fumes, erupts like a rocket blasting off, “Arrow of Time” is like being transported inside a kaleidoscope. Ripped from their 2024 studio debut, Entropy, the latter track remains an earnest reminder to take stock of your life and engage with the present moment.
