Taste Test: Aaron Taos finally moves on from heartbreak in his ‘Closure’ video
The pop breakout offers a hyper-stylized visual for his latest banger.
Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones
If you don’t know Aaron Taos, you will soon enough. His song “Closure” is spoiler alert one of the year’s best pop songs (related: our full breakdown of Best Songs of 2019 is coming up in December, shhh…). As we declared earlier this year, the banger “refracts his heart’s beams, a filter that blurs the lines in his head, just so he can make it through the curling smoke clouds.” It now as an appropriately emotionally exhausting visual, which seeks to squeeze out every last of his heart’s drops onto the screen with a hyper-cool aesthetic and a bit of blood. Taos succumbs to both heartache and the booze, perhaps not making the best, most logical life choices (eventually getting hit by a car) – but it all works to set him free. He ultimately discards the pain – after peering through an ex-lover’s window to see that she has, in fact, already moved on with somebody new. Taos is finally ready for and willing to embrace his liberation.
