Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

Remember this name: Aaron Taos. He’s been quietly working his way up the pop ranks, issuing bop after bop, and he shows no signs of slowing down or throwing in the towel. With a stripped version of “Control,” he sheds the original’s more indie-rock gum down to its barebones before redressing with an organic-lean. The accompanying visual, too, unfurls with a contrasting approach, shimmering with brighter colors and a cool vocal take. The Brooklyn noise-maker also sports new facial hair. “Sitting here thinking about society,” he sings. Such an opening lyric hits a little bit differently these days; quarantine is getting to us, and time no longer means anything. But we have Taos to get us through.
