AC Sapphire‘s “Desert Car” burns rubber, tearing through a cosmic, barren wasteland. Electric guitars side-wind through the earth’s outer crust, casting up a haunting, smoky ribbon into the atmosphere, and Sapphire’s voice is angelic yet it yanks you through the story. “Just you and me in my desert car / I keep you safe from scorpions,” she confides. “I will take you into the night,” he voice then glides into the star-strewn heaven. And baby, you’re in for a thrill.
“Desert Car” serves as the title cut to her new EP, out later this summer.
