Emotions are not unlike the seasons – very in transition, relentless and savage. Summer twists and turns, enough to squeeze color into the ground as crunchy oranges and browns. Winter then puffs white and frigid, but before long, spring peeks through melted layers. Canadian country singer-songwriter B. Knox imagines nature’s swift occurrences in much of his work, drawing parallels to human experiences and emotions. His new entry called “The Fault Lies” seeps into the melancholy that threads it all together. “It’s so quiet around the house / Even the ghosts have lost their nerve,” he whispers through the settling dust. Yet it’ll all soon kick up again into an expectedly unexpected whirlwind – emotions and weather swirling into what’s next.
“The Fault Lies” samples Knox’s forthcoming debut album, Heartbreak & Landscape.
