Taste Test: Belot rolls up to ‘V.I.P.’
The pop performer goes for the jugular.
Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones
Pull up a seat ’cause Belot is about to crush your eardrums with a certified banger. “V.I.P.” pops and fizzes, a torrential wave of sound. It crashes against the body, and you can’t help but ebb and flow with the tides. It also helps that Belot’s voice rides the groove with unrelenting force. “Everyone’s all over me,” she sings, full of swagger. The production punches holes in the air, and the energy intensifies and engulfs you. “Good to see ya / I’m glad you could make it / I walk in the room, people trying to break shit,” she sings, her voice spiraling out of control. “Girls and boys, all trying to get me naked / Everybody’s acting like they know me / Take a step back, you ain’t my homie.” Summer ’23 was just saved, y’all! (Is it too late to ask for this to be added to the Barbie soundtrack?!?)
