Taste Test: Carmanah wraps you in warmth with new song, ‘As I See You’
The indie-pop band remind the listener that the truth is buried inside you all along.
Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones.
The climb, not unlike that of Sisyphus, to self-love can feel insurmountable. It takes time, more than anything, of great reflection, winding through the past to understand identity on a richer level. Indie-pop band Carmanah ⏤ a six-piece of Laura Mina Mitic, Pat Ferguson, Mikey Baker, Lo Waight, Graham Keehn, and Jamil Demers ⏤ learn the meaning of home with their song “As I See You.” It’s a whiskey-smooth spritzer, as light and inviting as a babbling brook, and Mitic’s gentle warble leads you onward into the overhanging foliage to rediscover truth in an enticing, woody wonderland. “There’s a woman in you, who sees you as I do,” she comforts.
