Even given the fleeting, perhaps slippery, nature of the music industry, you only have one chance to make a first impression. It could cost you everything. A three-piece pop-rock band out of Australia, Club Roulette light up on the earth on which they tread with their very first cut. A debut called “Bonfire,” with appropriate lyrics chronicling their plan for world domination, comes in the shadows of genre torchbearers Green Day and Panic! At the Disco. Much like their predecessors, the Aussie trio have a penchant for the theatrical, and while it is certainly a bit muted here, the gas-lit anthem displays tremendous promise with a pumping, mountain-climbing hook that will surely leave an imprint. “I’m gonna start a bonfire,” rings out as a promise to not back down, a chant of “ooo”s melting into the backdrop. And we should let them.
