Most friendships aren’t built to last. Things change; we grow up; and the past is only a silhouette in our rearview. Nashville dreamscaper Dylan Rockoff reminiscences on his youth and longs for endless summer days of kicking rocks without a care in the world. His new song “Anymore” weighs heavy, his heart burdened as he seeks for what once was, and even the song’s confession-style approach is a tear-stained letter in the resounding here and now. “I don’t feel like I used to anymore / I don’t hear from you like I used to anymore,” he trembles, the lonely shooting through his veins and out through his pen. The production deceives him, bright and fluffy, but his voice leans into the melancholy with a penetrating gaze.
