Taste Test: Felix Cartal & Lights dance until you ‘Love Me’
The electronic producer delivers a glittering and magical new video featuring singer Lights.
Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones
We’ve all had those sleepless, terribly-angsty nights. Love’s got its hold right around our throats, and no manner of tossing can extricate from the present state of upheaval. Electronic producer Felix Cartal, who’s enlisted pop vocalist Lights, extends such an uncertain existence with his glittering, sloshy and hazy late-night visual for his song “Love Me.” Neon lights fracture and further blur the edges of reality, pairing nicely (or tragically) with love’s bitter sting, and the camera works double-time to highlight various scorned lovers going through the wringer of pain. “Love me or just let me go,” Lights lets the gut-punch completely empty her lungs. But she soon traipses through shimmering light of the disco ball to let the heartache wash off her skin. We should (probably) do the same.
