The power of being seen can heal a soul. You might not have exact words to extend to a tortured soul, but perhaps a song will do. Folk singer-songwriter Femke found herself speechless, unable to utter a single word, to a dear friend who had tried to kill themselves. So, she wrote “I See You,” a comforting, compassionate, and timely piece of music. “And your soul is getting tired / And you want to let it all go / Now, I got no words / Only thing I got that might help the hurt…” she stretches out a hand. Her voice could be all it takes; it’s angelic quality trickles right into the heart, an acoustic guitar flowing ever so gently around her. Let it wash over you and calm the nerves.
