We need more girl groups. Throughout history, we’ve been blessed with countless transcendent powerhouses who defied the patriarchy to emerge victorious and inspire women, girls and us queer folk all over the world with their pizazz, style and flirtatious fervor for juicy pop music. From The Chordettes to Destiny’s Child to Fifth Harmony, women are unstoppable when they’re together. Well, now, you can add Sweden’s new treasure six-piece called Femme46 ⏤ of Matilda Waldner, Evelina Keifer, Camilla Hedström, Anna Von Grothusen, Elin Grahn and Marina Vernholmen ⏤ to that iconic roster. With their viciously-addicting debut single “Red Lips,” they embark on what can best be anticipated is a superstar career. The accompanying visual is playfully cool, demonstrating their raw swagger and command of the conversation. “I recommend you leave this cat alone,” the group hisses, showing exactly what they’re made of: fearlessness we’ve never quite seen. Make no mistake, Femme46 will be ruling the world soon enough.
