Taste Test: FLØRE & Novaa imagine themselves as ‘Rich Kids’
The pop newcomer enlists one of the brightest rising mixers/producers for a new track.
Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones
If only we lived in an alternate reality where dreams paid the rent. Can you even? Alt-pop newcomer FLØRE gets lots in hers with abandon, winding through bubbly, yet rhythmic, production and simply allowing her body and mind to soak into the wind and bobble away into the low-hanging ether. She’s young and broke, and sometimes that’s enough. “We’ve got million-dollar minds,” she daydreams. On “Rich Kids,” she teams with Novaa to injection a high dosage of whimsy and spookiness. It packs a particular hook to the jawline, the emotion in full swing, but there’s something unexplainable equally as cathartic.
“Rich Kids” samples FLØRE’s debut EP, SUPERBLOOM, coming for us October 30.
