Welcome to Freshly Squeezed, a weekly new music playlist: spanning country, pop, EDM and urban, mainstream and other.
We’d be lying if we said we’re not totally obsessed with Nick Wilson‘s voice. His slight rasp (it’s there in subtle shades when he’s really feeling the lyric) is magnetic – pulling you into a euphoric orb that floats between worlds. With his new song “Say It Now,” one helluva heartbreaker, he longs for the truth to finally be spoken aloud. He’s felt a sour juju seep into a relationship, neither party outwardly confessing what’s happening, but he does so with this emotional plea. “Maybe I’m making something out of nothing,” he sings, also wrestling with his mind that might be playing tricks on him.
Not enough people are talking about Vezza, and it shows. We’ve stanned since “You are My Heroin” (receipts), and his new EP (out today!!!) is well worth the synth-wave trip. “Barbed Wire” ices over with a heart-swollen effect, and amidst his wails, a reflecting glass back to a former life and time, his voice hits you with a 1-2-3 punch to the gut. “No one ever throws me away!” he shakes his fits. No, we won’t ever throw Vezza away; he’s just too good!
Nearly the end of 2019, our third to last playlist features Common Jack, Rue Snider, Candi Carpenter, Kara Frazier, Rose Villain, Robin Cause, Wolfi, The Shadowboxers, Rayvon Owen, Desure, Iris Hill, The Shadowboxers and many more!
In all, we’ve got 30 new tracks to power your weekend ahead. Get to listening!
