Freshly Squeezed, Vol. 145: Reyna Roberts, Lisa Tucker, Courtney Marie Andrews & more
Enjoy new songs from Model Child, Davy Boi, Lori McKenna, Mickey Guyton, XYLØ, and more!
Welcome to Freshly Squeezed, a weekly new music playlist: spanning country, pop, EDM and urban, mainstream and other.
Reyna Roberts is not messing around. “Stompin’ Grounds” is a small-town hellraiser, and she leaves nothing but flaming couches and scorched earth in her wake. She shoots from the hip and doesn’t care what they think. Heavy guitars mix with rowdy, boot-scootin’ drums that hit your chest and hit hard. “These are my stomping grounds / And don’t you forget,” she emits fire from her fingertips. And no, you won’t soon forget her. She’s a powerhouse, full stop. “We gettin’ down,” she puts that phrase on loop, inching her way into the sky. By the end, she showcases a roar so moving, you’ll stop in your tracks. The summer hoe-down we desperately needed tbh.
Lisa Tucker makes one impressive comeback with “Fickle,” a lilting classic country tune flowing with a truly expressive, dynamite vocal performance. After her run on American Idol‘s Season 5, she was stricken with a severe health crisis. She understandably stepped back from the spotlight, but she returns now more self-assured and equipped with the kind of song that sets superstar careers in motion. Her voice tracks a songbird routine, gliding and sighing across the melody, and it drips with sorrow. And you won’t be able to not shed every single tear you have.
The latest playlist includes new songs from Courtney Marie Andrews, Lori McKenna, Taylor Swift, summersets, Davy Boi, Great Peacock, XYLØ, Model Child, Mickey Guyton, and many others.
In all, we’ve got 30 new tracks to soothe your mind during these terrible pandemic times. Insert heart emoji.
Each playlist will be refreshed every Friday morning/afternoon. We reserve the right to update anytime during the week, so make sure you bookmark this page.
