Enjoy new songs from Izzy Heltai, MUNA, Drew Lucas, Phoebe Ryan, Kristopher James, and more!
Welcome to Freshly Squeezed, a weekly new music playlist: spanning country, pop, EDM and urban, mainstream and other.
Chill-tinted pop is usually a tough sell. It can often feel meandering and lifeless. But Love You Later‘s “PCH Rollercoaster” begins with a soft trickle before morphing into a ravenous, untamed beast. “West coast lovers, sucker for all of the colors,” she lets her heart pound. She seeks to find solace in summer romance, and we might be in quarantine, yet we can still grasp tighter to that feeling. It rips through our bodies, and now, we have the perfect soundtrack.
Guitars clap in rainbow rays around him, and Holden Laurence‘s voice plays it the warm glow. “Candy Scented Scars” is a welcome sugar-high; he reappraises his heartbreak, the wounds still sending stings throughout his body. “You leave me with a bubblegum smile / And candy scented scar,” he pairs such tart songwriting as a way to further mend. His ex really did a number on him, forever rattling his brain with ghoulish nightmares he may never alleviate.
Our new roster includes songs from That Brunette, Marlene Oak, The Nicholas, Phoebe Ryan, VINCINT, Foxes, MUNA, Drew Lucas, Kristopher James, Michael Medrano, Izzy Heltai, Michael McArthur, Sam Fischer, and many, many more
In all, we’ve got 30 new tracks to soothe your mind during these terrible pandemic times. Insert heart emoji.
Each playlist will be refreshed every Friday or Saturday. We reserve the right to update anytime during the week, so make sure you bookmark this page.
