Welcome to Freshly Squeezed, a weekly new music playlist: spanning country, pop, EDM and urban, mainstream and other.
Spring(-like weather) has sprung, at least in this part of the country. To reflect, our hot-off-the-presses new playlist exudes sprightly-crafted, sun-baked jams about love, heart-torn Americana tunes and grit-of-your-teeth rock numbers. Pop genius Bonnie McKee leads the ravenous wolf pack with a frenetic new entry called “Sleepwalker,” grainy and flickering. She’s quickly followed by OMYO, Youngr, Mr. Carnivore and SOPHIE. Each one as addictive and feverish as the next.
Kygo enlists Ryan Riback for dope remix of “Riding Shotgun,” featuring McKee and Oliver Nelson, while Serena Foster drops a rhythmic-based club banger with “Flat Line Love.” Americana darling Lindi Ortega also makes a bid for romance with “Lovers in Love,” as well as Khalid and Normani on “Love Lies.” American Pets are “Birds of a Feather,” and Whitney Rose reimagines the classic “You Don’t Own Me” into a smokey western ballad.
