Freshly Squeezed, Vol. 38: Kate Nash, Leah Culver, RL Grime & more
Enjoy new tracks from Leon Bridges, Abi Wade, Banfi, Sorcha Richardson, Tom Toner and more!
Welcome to Freshly Squeezed, a weekly new music playlist: spanning country, pop, EDM and urban, mainstream and other.
“What’s wrong with me?!?” Kate Nash snarls with relish on her “Life in Pink” barn-burner, sampling her forthcoming fourth studio record, Yesterday was Forever (out March 30). She’s pop’s best weapon and never gets nearly enough credit. So, thus, she kicks off our just-pressed new music playlist. Halo Circus‘ trippy, Bowie-esque “Commander,” from their new record, Robots & Wranglers, out today (peep our review), clips her heels. New Echosmith, Leah Culver and Charlotte Carpenter quickly follow.
Fickle Friends‘ jaunty debut album, You Are Someone Else, finally sees the light of day, and we’re not “Heartbroken” about it. Wink wink nudge nudge. Youngr, Seinabo Sey, Emily Burns, Lucile, Hayley Kiyoko, Sigrid and Bend Sinister also chomp down hard with new cuts, often shedding their former shells for musical upheavals and torch-bearing reinventions. It’s a sturdy collection of tracks, from Sorcha Richardson‘s blustery new single and Leon Bridges‘ double whammy drop to Chris Stapleton, George Ezra, Tom Toner, Abi Wade, Scotty McCreery, Banfi and Sophia Black. It’ll zoom by your eardrums if you aren’t too careful. Beware of good music.
In all, we’ve got 48 delectable new singles to try, and if you’re lucky, you’ll have some new workout or crying time tunes.
Each playlist will be refreshed every Friday morning. We reserve the right to update anytime during the week, so make sure you bookmark this page.
