Freshly Squeezed, Vol. 39: Courtney Marie Andrews, CYN, Unbloom & more
Enjoy new tracks from Cherry Pools, Hvmmingbyrd, Wallows, The WLDLFE, Lissie and more!
Welcome to Freshly Squeezed, a weekly new music playlist: spanning country, pop, EDM and urban, mainstream and other.
Winter might be dragging its ass into spring, but don’t let the blues get you down. A brand new playlist is here to soothe your frost bite and thaw your fingertips. Courtney Marie Andrews makes a bid for Best Album of 2018 with May Your Kindness Remain, a set, as I’ve tweeted, that feels as mighty as a Linda Ronstadt record. Her voice is sticky like caramel but exposes every inch of her vulnerability. But that’s not all.
Kacey Musgraves bends disco with country, while Maggie Rose continues wielding power vocals galore, and Wallows inject us with shiny indie-rock ahead of their debut EP next month. Siv Jakobsen reinvents a Dolly Parton standard; Unbloom takes some more “Chances” with a new track; Cherry Pools shimmer in the glow of “Hollywood”: Lissie offers a deeply moving new record encased in Castles; and Kodaline spark a new flame. Freshly Squeezed is off the hook this week, if we don’t mind saying so ourselves.
Our newly-minted playlist also includes such acts as Steve Moakler, Cyn, Little Boots, Lexxi Saal, Marian Hill, The WLDLFE, Theia, LISHI, Tors, George Ezra, The Shadowboxers, Ben Fenner, Alba, Timeflies and Hvmmingbyrd, among countless others.
In all, we’ve got 47 to juice on this still-bitter cold late-March should-be-spring Friday morning.
Each playlist will be refreshed every Friday morning. We reserve the right to update anytime during the week, so make sure you bookmark this page.
