Freshly Squeezed, Vol. 44: Anne-Marie, Kasey Chambers, Meg Myers & more
Enjoy new songs from DRAMA, Aisha Badru, Leann Rimes, Lera Lynn, She & Him, MoonZz, Spencer Sutherland and more!
Welcome to Freshly Squeezed, a weekly new music playlist: spanning country, pop, EDM and urban, mainstream and other.
It’s been a long damn time coming, but we finally have Anne-Marie‘s debut long-player. Speak Your Mind makes a big splash with its brashness, as she spouts some real tea, as you’ll hear on such standouts as the Marshmellow-featuring “FRIENDS,” “Some People” and “Bad Girlfriend.” She’s got the beats, spits and bangers, so we remain perched for total radio domination, you know, if we’re lucky. Cough, gatekeepers suck, cough.
Americana favorite Kasey Chambers returns with her excellent new album Campfire, stoked with burning embers of yearning and reflection. Coming off last year’s double-decker Dragonfly, it’s hard to imagine her new collection to stand just as tall (but it really does, trust us). Leann Rimes reimagines her classic hit “One Way Ticket,” heightening the once-plucky, youth-stretched anthem with ripened wisdom that only comes with age, while Locals flip Astrid S‘ “Think Before I Talk” into an indie garage jam. We’ve also been blessed with new albums from Eli Lieb, Don Gallardo, Willie Nelson, Aisha Badru, Cary Brothers, Janelle Monae and Mojave Nomads.
Furthermore, the playlist below also boasts a smorgasbord of lead singles and one-off cuts, including entries from Lera Lynn, Meg Myers, Youngblood, Maddie & Tae, MoonZz, Rows, Brielle Von Hugel, Ruel, Johnny & the Bootlegs, Dusky Grey, Aloe Blacc, HONNE, Brent Cobb, She & Him, Mat Kearney, the Lighthouse & the Whaler, Lo Lo, DRAMA and Spencer Sutherland, among countless others.
In all, we’ve got 54 new tunes to dance to, to cry to, to raise your fists in agony to. We won’t judge what you do with this playlist in your spare time.
Each playlist will be refreshed every Friday morning/afternoon. We reserve the right to update anytime during the week, so make sure you bookmark this page.
