The grunge-pop queen speaks proudly on her sexuality on a new song.

Female sexual desires remain a taboo subject often these days. That’s not too surprising given the generally grotesque treatment of women, in general. But grunge-pop queen Girl Wilde addresses her own lustful aches with her latest smash cut. “WeT” hits the eardrums hard, the bass ratcheting up the frantically desirous strings, her voice snapping each one with a lick and a flourish. “I’m spending hours on the phone to feel a little less alone,” she admits, a hushed whisper barely escaping her lips. Such vulnerability quivers throughout the song’s rich bones. The smoldering atmosphere swiftly rises, though. “Boys in my bed / They give me good head,” she laps up the consequences as a kitten to a saucer of milk. Her gritty, off-the-cuff charm is as addicting as the hook itself, empowering and liberatingly promiscuous. The perfect pop storm.
