Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones
This year has been rough for everyone. The pandemic combined with our individual life stressors has left people feeling exhausted and in dark places. But musical duo Eric Ronick and Michael Cannova refuse to let this define their music, dropping a defiantly joyful track, designed to raise spirits and resillience. Together they are Good Days, and they are determined to find light in the darkness “You’ve been lost you’ve been hurt/you’ve been left with your face in the dark/but I’m still alive/I, I’m still alive/I, I’m gonna fly/I, I’m gonna fly/high wonderful!” The lyrics are beautifully arranged by Cannova, and are steeped in metaphor and vivid imagery. Although the genre is classic rock, it feels like Good Days have a unique style that is all their own. The palpable happiness in Ronick’s voice is infectious, and this combined with an upbeat rhythm are the perfect recipe for a feel-good heartwarming song.
