Henny Lane isn’t afraid to mix things up. At first glance, his newest song “Apocalyptic Girl” is a modern hip-hop, but as the song progresses it’s clear that it’s so much more. This single uses elements of electro-pop in the verses, jazz and rock in the chorus, and sprinkling hints of blues throughout. All of these ingredients combine to serve up a truly unique and creative single. Lane’s voice completes the picture, with some lyrics so fast and on-beat it is reminiscent of rap. The main melody and backing vocals adds romantic storyline to the track: “Don’t know you how you did it but you saved me/you fixed my heart”. Henny Lane’s “Apocalyptic Girl” has a little bit of everything.
