A nameless, genreless collective, Hooyoosay steps back in time with a collection of covers. Discover This Cover pulls together five classics into a confetti-covered tilt-o-whirl. Polished versions of your favorite throwback tunes make for a delightfully bubbly time, with plenty of giddy-up. Their chosen smorgasbord of songs zips by the eardrums, permitting the listener to see them in a brand new light.

From fresh iterations of Donovan and Rod Stewart to The Kinks, Hooyoosay’s EP fits in the realm of blog favorite, folk duo Big Little Lions. The glossy shimmer to the tracks evokes a brilliantly blinding effervescence that you can’t stop listening to—it’s downright addicting! Electric guitars, pitter-patter percussion, and saloon-style piano boost and sharpen the lyrics with a jolly abandon. The group’s knack for harmonic layers is also magnetizing, so much so that they get lodged in the brain. “Pretty Belinda” feels like it could be a beach song, while “All Day and All of the Night” gets down and dirty with an irresistible groove.
