Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones
Music is often a way to process hurt and unresolved trauma, and this is rarely seen as clearly than in Hunter Falls‘ newest song “PAIN”. With a strong beat that is almost reminiscent of a rap song, and sweeping harmonious backing vocals, “PAIN” is fierce and unrelenting, taking no prisoners. “Pain!/I don’t want to be the one you blame now/I don’t want to be the one you play all these games with you” Falls cries, lyrics creating a forceful and desperate chorus. Falls credits this song as the creative project that helped to turn his life around and process the damage he had endured. Perhaps it is this that grants such a raw and powerful tone to Falls’ vocals, captivating listeners with every word.
