You can’t do the things that make you unhappy for long. Well, you can, but you’ll suffer for it. Ian McFarland‘s electronic-basted rocker “More Blue” swims in flushed liberation – when you’re done being chained to the past or old ways of thinking and your skin waxes red. “I’m sick of being 22 / With nothing to lose / And everything to prove,” he sings, steeping his words in an icy sulk. But even so, he polishes with an electric guitar’s snapping jaws and so a power emerges as he opens his heart to change. The moment needs it, demands it, won’t let him go until it is totally fulfilled. “I can’t let you keep living inside my head,” he later contends. By the final few frames, he’s found what he’s always been looking for: freedom.
