Trauma is unpredictable. You never quite know how emotional, physical and psychological bruises will manifest. Sometimes, the marks immediately appear; other times, it’s a slow, grueling process before you even know what is happening. Punk-pop newcomers Jeremy Pascal ⏤ a trio of Tino Romana, Julian Propst and Nico Winkler ⏤ wade neck-deep into the addiction that strikes like a serpent’s forked tongue. Swamy venom, “Heart Scars” is hooked into the raw, sore vulnerability of self-awareness that reflects back as red eyes and sleepless nights. “Make my body disappear / Demons breathing down my neck,” Romana hisses in thick howls. His confessions are blood-curdling and singularly penetrate to the current drug epidemic, one that has completely deteriorated what it means to actually live and survive.
“Heart Scars” is the band’s second ever single and samples their forthcoming debut EP.
