If you’ve been feeling stagnate, despite your best efforts, it might be time to step back for a second. Burnout is very real these days. Singer-songwriter Karen Choi expresses her exhaustion with her new song. With “Fast Lane,” she finds herself whisking into the side of the road for a much-needed, well-earned pitstop. Cars might continue flying past her view, but time off is exactly what’s necessary. Acoustic guitar in tow, she laments her current headspace and place within the industry. “Time will call to you when it’s running thing,” she warbles. “Tell you if not now, it’s never going to happen.” The weight seems unbearable, but in not being so hard on herself, she’ll rediscover why she’s here to begin with: to move people.
