Sometimes life just goes wrong and you need a break. Its exactly for those times that Karen Lee Batten wrote her newest single “Drinkin’ Song”, reminding us that every so often we need to let our hair down, give ourselves a chance to have some fun and get a quick drink (or two). “When the hard is hard to take/there’s a song to numb the pain/yeah when its wrong/I need a drinking song” she belts triumphantly. Co-written by Batten with Jeff Johnson, and Mitch Merrett – and co-produced by Merrett and Johnson, this Canadian music group is a powerful addition to the country genre. Accompanied by a lively beat, the quintessential country Western instruments, and Karen Lee Batten’s powerful vocals, this song is an anthem of resilience and grit.
