It’s quite easy to get lost in love. When you’re struck by Cupid’s sweet, heart-tipped arrow, you fall head over heels, and you can’t possibly let go. Country upstart Kimmi Bitter swims along the surface of a moonlit lake of romance, taking wide strokes whenever she can, with her song called “Into Blue.” It’s a muted performance, harvesting the understated beauty of The Nashville Sound, while also leaving a unique imprint all her own. “Surely, I’ve got my head in the clouds / It’s periwinkle skies whenever you’re around,” she sings. The longing tears at her heart’s seams, and as it bursts totally open, her voice remains steady and glides as feathers on an airstream.
“Into Blue” is lifted from Bitter’s brand new EP, Take Me Back, out everywhere now.
