Taste Test: Kisos bawls his eyes out on new song, ‘He Didn’t Want Me’
The alt-pop singer-songwriter offers a pointed, unfussy lyrical and vocal performance.
Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones.
There’s always that one truly crippling heartbreak. You were in it. You were consumed by it. But your lover was not. And so you were ripped to shreds in the aftermath. Alt-pop juggernaut Kisos (whose “Happily Ever After” is a bop of the century) claws through the remnants of his brokenness, tears staining his cheeks, howls squeaking from his chest, with his new song. “He Didn’t Want Me” is one of the singer-songwriter’s more pointed lyrics, straight-laced and venomous – and musically, it’s a tilt-a-whirl of blurred emotions, acoustic guitar and percussion. “If he loved me, he would have shown me more…” he sings. The pain drapes thick on his syllables, and Kisos’ stabs are savage and simply draining (in the best way possible).
Now, where’s that EP?
