Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

An ancient, primal urge, lust clutches yours limbs and refuses to let go. It’s almost parasitic in the way it seeps into your membrane and strangles thoughts of anything else. Electronic three-piece called KOKO – of Oliver Garland (vocals) Harry Dobson (bass, synth), and Ashley C (synths, lead guitar) – feel their carnal desires crawl underneath their fingernails and send them careening into a blurry vision. With “Eyes So Wide,” synths scratching at their skin, the Bristol band watch their bodies, somehow unresponsive to their cognitive control board, drop all inhibitions and succumb to devilish desires. It’s not their fault; they’re only human. “Not everybody pulls me in like this / But you’re too much to handle,” Garland puffs into a purple haze.

KOKO is set to play London’s The Waiting Room next Wednesday (January 22).
