Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones
If you’ve ever had a broken heart, you know there’s a waiting period – in which you must heal before diving headfirst into fresh love that’s always waiting on the horizon. But there are times when you want to expose your battered and bruise heart to someone new and let time, and a foray into unknown romance, to sweep you away for safe mending. Pop rebel Lauren Sanderson is swept up in a budding rendezvous that takes her breath away. With “But I Like It,” she peeks through love’s potentiality and allows the rush of sexual tension to tug her along for one helluva ride. “Oh my god I’m so hypnotized / Blurring the lines / Baby give me a sign / Girl, I wanna make you mine,” the words gush from her soul, few inhibitors are left as they lovers steal away into the night. You know, sometimes, you just have to trust your instincts, for better or worse.
“But I Like It” lands smack in the middle of Sanderson’s new EP, Midwest Kids Can Make It Big, out everywhere.
