Taste Test: Lior Holzman weaves a beautiful melody in ‘Insomnia’

Some songs are so beautiful they take the air out of your lungs. Lior Holzman has created one such song with the stunning “Insomnia”. Vocal harmonies collide with alluring fingerstyle guitar that is slowly joined by a string trio to create a beautiful fusion of violin, guitar and cello. The result is a uplifting swell of emotions that brings a sense of pure wonder to the mind. Holzman’s vocals are likewise incredible, with a voice as sweet and soft as honey. The lyrics describe the sensation of trying to rest, but being plagued by the visualisations that linger between the border of sleeping and waking. “I’m wandering in the streets/flying above the clouds/gliding in the vast space I built with my own mind” he describes. With the poetry and the sheer beauty that Holzman brings to the table, this will be a firm favourite on the playlist.
