Taste Test: Lo Lo & DCF fall into a ‘Stranger’s Arms’ on new remix
The pop gurl and remix giant team up for a visual bathed in amber and emotion.
Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones
We’ll turn to any kind of coping mechanism to numb the pain. A heartbreak is one of the toughest miseries to endure, often leaving us hurting ourselves further through booze and hookups. Pop gurl Lo Lo centers her own experience between enveloping warmth and stark rays of amber light in the visual to the DCF-starring remix of “Stranger’s Arms,” directed by Justin Alexis. As the pair find their orbits cascading through the city streets, they wrap their wounds in various vices to somehow medicate the worst growing pains they’ve ever felt. But in doing so, they can only see ghosts of their past in the reflection of a new lover’s eyes. “Wish we could go back to the start,” Lo Lo’s words smolder on synths, electrifying and raw. The video makes it all even more personal, focusing in on the emotional downpour from which neither can ever escape.
“Stranger’s Arms” (remix) is lifted from Lo Lo’s Sweater Collection EP, out everywhere now.
