Taste Test: Loose Buttons have ’99 Secrets’ to tell
Honesty is the best policy.
Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones
In today’s age, it’s difficult to open up to others. You feel like a burden, even though that’s simply not the case. With “99 Secrets,” NYC outfit Loose Buttons manage to peel back those layers as a way to address their personal struggles. “Oh no, somebody answer the phone…” sings frontman Eric Nizgretsky. His emotions boil over on the chorus, stormy guitars thrashing behind Nizgretsky’s unwavering, potent vocal performance. “…my friends seem distracted…” he later admits, feeling exasperated and uneasy. But he has to tell somebody, so he turns pen to paper for expression. And we should listen to what he has to say.
