Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones

Death is an inescapable force that works quietly in the background. When we least expect it, it’ll come out of the darkness and grab you. You can never prepare for its strike. Classically-trained pop savant Løv Li immerses himself in a loved one’s unexpected passing on his new song. With “Sorry,” compacted string work cutting deep into his skin, the Swedish artist allows himself to feel everything his body needs to feel. “Momma, I’m sorry,” he sings. His words barely escape him, ever elusive and somehow not quite tangible, as the pain swells up inside his chest. His voice is weary, crawling across the earth, and such tragedy may never leave him. “I know that I can’t go on / So, I will die for you…” he lets even his most dangerous thoughts slip into the soured air. He’s the kind of crushing confession we’ve all felt in the throes of ruin.
