Fear comes with almost anything we do in life. It’s most evident when we’re teetering on the edge of letting go, moving on, and reclaiming our worth. Indie singer-songwriter Mae Krell feels growing pains aching in the bones, and stepping into the sunlight, warmth takes its place. With “garden,” an acoustic-rooted number with crunchy production sprouting in the ground, the musician digs fingernails into the earth as an act of defiance. Vocals are liked cracked plaster, warbles echoing across woody framework, and in no time, the past is severed completely.
