Taste Test: MaRRius hunts for an ‘Easy Fix’
The inde-pop performer examines a new fling and the hold of morality.
Welcome to Taste Test, a song/video review series of SubmitHub-only gemstones
As the saying goes, the heart wants what it wants. Primal lusts strike like a viper, and there’s little else you can do to ward off the inevitable. London’s indie-pop performer MaRRius flies nose-first into a sticky web, positioning a new infatuation through grimy synths that bubble and gurgle. With “Easy Fix,” he wrestles with his instincts and the desire to steal away into the dark corner of the bar – fingertips of a fling curling their clutches around his throat. The grasp proves too much, and the slither of production work mimics his own personal turmoil. “What do you want to do?” he coos. His voice is sultry and mercilessly engaged in a dalliance of morality, and he slowly but surely succumbs to temptation. And who could blame him?
“Easy Fix” is lifted from his new EP, Borrowed Time, out everywhere now.
