Maty Noyes‘ “Idea” is sticky with beads of sweat. Looking back at a relationship, she’s not wistful. Quite the contrary. She’s breaking free from the past for the first time and finds herself not just fleeing the scene but soaring up and away. “I was in love with the idea, caught up in the idea,” she sings over a thumbed drip-drop beat. “Ya I took a couple drugs in the IKEA thinking it was forever.” Noyes slinks along like a panther on the prowl, her sharpened claws ready to draw blood if she needs to. For now, she’ll let this seductive little number soak into the skin.
