Retro-soul artist serves a velvet song

Rarely is a love song so tender as Micah Edwards’ latest single “Girl from the Valley”. With a muted drumbeat and an upbeat whistle, the song opens with a pep in its step and joy in its heart. The song continues to lean heavily on the bass and the melodic guitar chords, shadowing Edwards’ calming and silky smooth voice. Even during the chorus when he happily proclaims his lover’s affection for him, he is modulated, calm and composed. “I got a girl from the valley/I think that she loves me/I think that she loves me/till eternity babe”. This is the kind of song that puts a smile on your face whilst also putting you at ease. Micah Edwards has cooked up a caramel concoction of velvet bliss.
