By its very essence, time never lasts. We may clutch particularly cherished memories closer to our chests, but the relentless sands of the hourglass fall faster than we can keep up. Waxing rather poetic, folk duo Misty River ⏤ of Carmen Phelan and Adam Morley ⏤ linger in the stunningly rosy hue of the past, their souls floating overhead and out of body. Phelan’s voice is wondrously angelic and light and seems to deceive the weighted material, which is given even more texture through bandmate Morley’s handiwork. “I’ve loved you even more than all your worth / Lord knows, I never let you go,” she sweeps up the cosmos in her voice, a netting of stars and other heavenly fixtures. She tears down the very expanse of the unknown and seems to bury it all in a melody that is one of great timelessness.
Misty River is expected to release a debut EP in early 2020.
