Reality can often feel like you’re in a haze, as if you’re lumbering through existence as a sleeping zombie. And it can be near impossible to break free. Brooklyn indie-pop songwriter Jeff Citron, known professionally as Moonglow, pulls the listener into his own personal hell, feverishly crawling through life without a way out. Alongside collaborator Elizabeth Wyld, Citron admits “it seems it’s lights out,” he chants into clouds of smoke. The ether appears to decend around him; it’s all hallucinatory, of course, but that doesn’t make it any less real.
