Folk singer-songwriter Mount Hudson‘s (real name Dave Yim) new song “Lakeside Water” is as if spring has sprung. The production – anchored with acoustic guitar, mandolin, and violin – laps up at his feet, and his voice beckons you as a siren does out into the calming, crystal blue waters of some lakke tucked away in the mountains. Winter’s cool breath remains stuck to the bottom of various rocks and sprouting new foliage, but it is quickly vanishing. “When’s the last time you felt alive?” he prompts the listener to engage with not only the world but their senses and yearning for existence. Yim’s performance is downright arresting and washes over the body and mind, cascading you along life’s unexpected, adventurous airstream. “I’d do it all again…”
