With a country twang, Sumerlyn injects a palpable sense of joy into her lyrics. “Drownin’ out the worry and drownin’ out the fuss/kick it back/slow motion/just flo-oh-oh-oh-floatin/floatin'”. The song was inspired by one of Sumerlyn’s favourite things to do in the heat as she explains “There are many summer country songs about tan lines and beer drinkin’, but not a whole lot of songs about floatin’! We wanted to write a song to capture the chill and relaxed vibes of those lazy river days.” With flawless instrumentation and catchy lyrics, this is a song to play on repeat this summer.
