Taste Test: Nya goes a bit mental in ‘Love You to Death’
Pop conjurer draws upon macabre metaphor for a new video.

Heartbreak is one of the most universal pains, woven into the fabric of human history before it was ever even recorded. It’s a necessary misery by which we come closer to understand who we are and who we can be. Out of sunny Los Angeles, witchy pop conjurer Nya clings to her miserable state and draws the dried-out rose petals closer to her chest. The relationship’s end is bookmarked with ashy embers, left faded to black in the fire pit, but she holds on for the very last moment before she can think about moving on. “This time is the last time I’ll be acting like a landmine,” she promises, bearing it all under the soft glow of an overhead lamp. The visual, intimately framed and splashed with a vivid springtime palette, leans heavily into metaphor and the symbolic act of burying the past ⏤ yet remaining psychologically chained to it. The final frame is as unnerving as it is relatable AF.
