Taste Test: Tai Verdes serenades us with ‘we would have some cute kids’

Love at first sight is such a joyful concept, and Tai Verdes’ song “we would have some cute kids” treats it with the happiness it deserves. Starting out simple with a catchy rhythmic strumming, the track crescendos along with Verdes’ growing feelings of love. With synth-pizzicato beats, ever-growing layers of instrumentals and a dance-inducing bass, this track is impossible not to move to. The vocals are impressive too, with an incredible tonal range, clever harmonies and feel-good lyrics that bring a smile to your face. “Let’s pack the mini-van/see the Hoover Dam/you making me a real family man” Verdes sings, as the music video takes us though his fantasies of settling down with his love and future family. This song is a good-natured, cheeky, charismatic and lovable from the first listen.
